Okay so I have a bunch of things to say and post, but for the sake of time, I’m just going to layout a bunch of links and descriptions for you.

Let’s start with flowing data - http://projects.flowingdata.com/an interesting look at data as it happened.

Next look at http://taggalaxy.de/ Enter a Tag and then drill down until your presented with the globe of images that you want to view. Clicking it will take you to that flickr image.

Next is http://www.cooliris.com/ a cool app that will display your images. You can even embed a photo wall into your website, or blog.

Staying with the subject of Photo’s… Did you know flickr has photos that are available for you and your students to use in presentations and projects? Go here http://www.flickr.com/creativecommons find the section “Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs License” click an image and then enter a search tag like: “civil war” all the images that come up able to be used.

Now if only we can get the bandwidth and backbone of the network to be able to carry the signal necessary for all of our cool apps. like SKYPE. I carry PORTABLE SKYPE on my flash drive…rather cool because my address book and all go with me everywhere, all I need to add is a camera. Speaking of which..note to self… TRY A DOCUMENT CAMERA AS A SKYPE CAM.

Sorry about that, but when an idea hits I have to put it down in bits/ink.

Bing is more like BONG

Bing is more like BONG as in what they may have been using when they launched it.

The new MS search engine is not ready for the mainstream classroom yet.

Call me paranoid, but the decision machine is not functioning properly.

I turned on my strict filters and it’s still picking up videos of some girls g-sting when I search for keyword Reef. As in the ocean reef.
As always I recommend not doing live searches in front of kids, but with Bing you hover over that video and it starts playing.

That cool feature is only one of many, so don’t get me wrong, I’m loving some of the options, filters and ways you can drill down and view “decisions” or in my world “data”.
I especially like the car details as your searching this could be a very handy way to do so.

Still got some work to do there before I want to put it on my teacher desktops.
